Diesel Mechanic

Current opening is for a full-time diesel mechanic to service customers on-site and roadside. Ability to perform diagnostics/repair/replace major components of various light/medium/heavy-duty trucks including: Clutches, Electric Systems, Hydraulic/ Air Brake systems, Heating/ Air Conditioning Systems, Instruments and Gauges, and Preventive Maintenance Service. Experience using vehicle manufacturer computer software programs, including but not limited to CAT, Cummins, Detroit, Isuzu, Mack, Volvo, Paccar, International, Hino. Must be proficient in DEF and DPF system diagnosis and repair.


Job Requirements/Qualifications/Preferences:

  • "A" level Diesel Mechanic with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Diesel Truck repair and maintenance.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and your own tools (basic hand tools)

  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (vocational/technical or certification is a plus)

  • Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred

  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required

  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools required

  • Ability to lift at least 65lbs.

  • Basic computer skills required

· **Truck refrigeration experience with Carrier and Thermoking reefer unit is a plus.


Major Responsibilities:

· Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of - Engines (gas and diesel), Power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, driveshafts, PTO's and wheel ends, Electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, Steering systems, Electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, sensors etc., Engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc., Brake systems including ABS, Suspension systems (spring and air)

  • Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment

  • Maintain work area appearance and safety

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Salary: $22-$30/hour 


Starting pay will be determined by verifiable professional experience. Employees who show they can produce with limited supervision will have compensation reassessed after a 30-60 day probationary period.
